They just updated the rooms and made them feel like you’re staying in a hospital. They used to be so cozy and now they’re plain and just don’t feel cozy at all. Lights are brighter and they have wood floors so it echoes. Wish they would’ve kept the old style rooms because they were much more homey feeling.

I was not planning on stopping in Abilene, but on my way home, I found myself to be very tired. Therefore, I decided to stay the night at this hotel. Everyone that I spoke to was friendly and knowledgeable. You could tell that everyone genuinely wanted to help and be of service. The hotel was very clean. My room was very clean, but did smell a little musty. I suspect no one had been in that room for a while, which caused it to smell this way. It was no big deal and after running the AC for a couple of hours, that issue was also resolved. The next morning the breakfast staff was also very eager to please. The food area was clean. The service was prompt and everything tasted good. The eggs were perfectly cooked which was nice. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, and would recommend this hotel to others who are passing through Abilene. I would certainly stay there again.

The bad: The last time I was here, a year or so ago, construction was ongoing. Now I'm here again and still renovations are in process. If I had known I would've stayed somewhere else despite the breakfasts. There's one washer and two dryers for the entire hotel. Who at corporate thinks these are good decisions? The good: the food here is exquisite. Breakfast is by far the best I've had in most hotels. The staff are fantastic; they will take care of you and don't treat you as a transient. Overall: I'd definitely return once renovations are complete, but just do yourself a favor and book at the Doubletree for now, but you will miss out on great staff and food.

Great location but the room smelled like feet. Also there was a blood stain on the blanket. A tile in the bathroom was loose and when we stepped on it, it would come up. I wasn't impressed with the room at all. There is also a sign in the parking lot that says, high car search area, don't leave valuables in your car. The people at the front desk were very friendly at least.

The star of the stay was the host at breakfast. She had the chef make a custom omelette for me(Indian Style) so happy about it. Her smile and radiance made our day! God Bless her!!

Hotel was super clean. Nice shower and bathroom. AC worked great even on a 101+ degree day. Even on the first floor, no road noise. The bed and linens were clean and so comfortable. We definitely would stay again.
